The Second EACA International School on Computer Algebra and its Applications is an activity of the Spanish network Red EACA , Red Temática de Cálculo Simbólico, Álgebra Computacional y Aplicaciones, partially supported by the Acción Complementaria MTM2011-13133-E (Gobierno de España). The First School on Computer Algebra and its Applications was held in Tenerife (Canary Islands) in 2011. The Scientific Committee of the network Red-EACA will act as the Scientific Committee of the school.
The School will take place from Monday, June 24th to Friday, June 28th, 2013 at the Facultad de Ciencias de la Universidad de Valladolid, Spain.
It will provide an opportunity for young researchers (namely, Master students, PhD students and Postdocs with less than 5 years since their PhD) in Computer Algebra and Symbolic Computation or in its Applications to learn recent developments in the area from three internationally recognized lecturers. The School also welcomes experienced researchers interested in these topics.
A. Conca (U. Genova, Italy):Bounds on Syzygies
I. Swanson (Reed College , USA):Primary decomposition and algorithms. Applications to algebraic statistics.
V. Welker (Philipps-U. Marburg, Germany):Combinatorics and Algebra of geometric subdivision operations on simplicial complexes
Participants will also have an opportunity to show some of their on-going work, by presenting a contributed talk at the designed sessions . Instructions about how to submit a contribution appear here. Submissions will be supervised by the School's Scientific committee.
There will be a limited number of grants for students and young researchers, covering the accomodation expenses. Instructions on how to apply for a grant are here.
